Changing Plans and draw complete

Hello gentlemen, we are posting another update. We thank the teachers who helped us with ideas and also to the staff of the Center for Mechanics and Robotics of UNIFACS. After much thought we change the objective of our mechanical arm of a cake cutter and server for an arm handling test tubes for experimental conditions where human contact could be dangerous or affect the experiment. So, with much pride that the Equipe P.A.M launches our project. We break all the obstacles facing a great desire to see what we have in mind working. With the rush to deliver the preliminary design for the day 23/03 we had a lot of planning, in addition to the design of the prototype also did a kind of schedule the team to serve as an organizer / motivator for achieving the activities and scope of our goals. Speaking of the physical the project didn't bring many changes, which really changed the cutter claw is the cakes that will now handle the test tubes. Below are some photos of the model of the mechanical arm and a simple sketch of the layout and electrical / electronics that we have in mind for our project.

Project Video [60%]

This is the project of the mechanical arm in Sketchup, but it's not complete, we still have to draw the tool that will cut and serve the slices of cake. But the structure in general that we have on mind is basicaly that. With aluminium contour of 75x2mm, stepper motor in the base to facilitate the rotation of the arm, another engine that will turn a screw coordinating for the movement of ascent and descent of the other joint of the prototype. Another news will be posted here.

Thanks

First Post

This is our first post and now we want to talk about the purpose of this blog. Driven by Projeto ARHTE 2009.1 - UNIFACS, we students of the 1st semester of electrical engineering will develop a kind of mechanical arm controled via paralel port. Our prototype has aim the cut and the serve process of slices of cake with a tray of rotation controled together with the mechanical arm. In this way show the automation process of cutting and serving uniformly of the slices, exlcuding all human contact needed to this process. Soon we'll post more news about the project like photos of sketches of the prototype and the 3D sketch.

Thanks.
